Bible Reading Plan

Reading the Bible together is one of the central practices of Liberty Church. Through Scripture, God speaks to us, forms us, and draws us into deeper relationship with Himself through Jesus.

We follow a shared reading plan at Liberty where we read one chapter of the New Testament and one chapter of the Old Testament each weekday and a couple of the Psalms at the weekend.

We read in community because God is shaping a people, not just individuals. As we give ourselves to God’s Word together, the Holy Spirit helps us understand it, apply it, and live it out — shaping how we love God, love one another, and participate in what God is doing in the world.

This reading plan gives us a shared rhythm of Scripture across the whole church. On weekdays, we read from both the Old and New Testaments, grounding us in the full story of God. Over the year, we’ll read through the entire New Testament and roughly one third of the Old Testament. At weekends, we slow down with the Psalms, allowing space for prayer, worship, and rest.

The plan is woven into the life of Liberty Church, especially our Home Churches, where we gather having read the same passages and listen together for how God is calling us not just to understand His Word, but to obey it.
